Teacher EXCEL Grant Program: 

The Milwaukee Public Schools Foundation, Inc. sponsors a mini-grant program for teachers to fund creative classroom projects or activities that enrich student learning experiences.  

Classroom teachers of grades K3 through 12 in the Milwaukee Public Schools are eligible and invited to apply for grants up to $750 for projects or activities to be conducted either during the school year or summer. Interclassroom, interdisciplinary and/or joint teacher projects are encouraged. Teachers are also encouraged to include a literacy, parent/family and/or environmental "Green" component in their proposal. Individual schools may submit a maximum of 3 grant applications.

Grants Awarded

The MPS Foundation hosted a reception and award ceremony on December 2, 2009, to recognize 71 teachers who were awarded a Teacher EXCEL Grant for 2009-10. A total of 47 projects were funded. Click on the 2009-10 link below for a list of the winners.
